Sorry. I have no better pictures until next month when I see it again. What are you looking for when you evaluate this medal, and what makes it so rare?

I would guess itīs a repro. Watch these pictures of a original. Watch on the pictures of the front side with the eagle.
Craig Gottlieb Militaria, Archive, Blood Order set With Documents

Watch at the M in munchen .And compare to yours. A typical fault on replicas. The lines on the M on the replicas are longer then the ones on the originals.

It's rare because only 4,200 were awarded. It's also one of the most prestigious decorations in the Nazi Party.

Martin DK, Sorry but It is a FAKE, a copy of a type 1, big giveaway are the serephs on the "M" in "MUNCHEN". The detail on the the building on rear not crisp or detailed enough, the ray from the swastika should touch the lower leg of the "H" in "IHR", and the second ray from the centre ray should intersect the "D" in "DOLCH", this does not happen on this medal.

See this thread on a genuine "BLOOD ORDER" (Type 2) http://warrelics.eu/forum/orders-dec...d-order-23516/

I hope this has helped..Prost! Steve.

Many thanks for your help. It must be an "honest" copy of the obvious "M"
