    Default 1923 Gau Badge

    just new on here, is this the thread for general help, if so, can anyone give me any info on this. The date obscured only by the camera flash, says '1923' ...

    G'dat Mate and welcome, and not really...Go to the top of your page click Forum and scroll through the different categories..I think you want 3rd Reich Decorations and medals or something like that they'll help you out.

    thanks for the welcome, I was given this by a family member, the story goes that he, my Grandfather, was given it in return for some food after the War in some part of Germany, it certainly has the 'feel' of something old, but I'm no expert, hence me joining this forum. I would love to hear it's authentic, for obvious reasons

    In my opinion it is unfortunately not an original example of the Allgemeines Gauehrenzeichen. Originals of this highly desirable award are not only of exceptional quality, a quality that is missing on the one posted here. I believe originals also come with different markings on the reverse (Maker and silver hallmark) as well as a different pin style.
