    Hi Guys

A friend on mine is sorting through his late Dads items and he has found a bronze type medallion:

FRONT: National Sozialistisches Fliegerkorps and a picture of what appears to be a glider.

BACK: 594 Fur Funfjahrigen ehrenamtlichen einsatz der Korpsfuhrer des ns fligerkorps generalobest and a picture of a Swastika.

I have asked him to take a photo of it, however has anyone got any idea what it is please??????

    Many thanks

Sounds like it could be something such as a five year award, presented by a colonel-general of the NSFK (National Socialist Flying Corps). If possible, photographs would be great.

You're welcome dcfc, maybe somebody here on the forum could elaborate more regarding this award. It is not one that I am familiar with. There are some wonderful NSFK items out there though, maybe this is another one.

    Cheers,

    Carl

It's a non-wearable award for five years of unpaid volunteer work for the NSFK presented by (not to) its Korpsführer who also held general officer rank in the Luftwaffe.

Since the rank is Generaloberst, is has to be the second Korpsführer Alfred Keller, because his predecessor Alfred Christiansen only reached the rank of General der Flieger.

Please see here for a another one (of the version presented by Christiansen) with a full translation of the text:

Sorry; I cannot comment on that. Still, as has been said above, if possible you should post pictures. Perhaps another member will be able to help you determine authenticity and value.
