Very very bad.
Have a look at the German TR period awards on this site and compare the construction quality to your example.
I think you will discover your answer.
Extremely poor casting effort even for a fantasy item.

ahahhahah thanks guys!!! Well I was also a bit suspicious on the item but did not imagine it to be soooo BAD! As you say, Dave, the more you wander around the site the more you learn!

Well, please forgive a beginner her mistakes!
And thanks for welcoming, that's right I have not introduced myself- I am Baiba, an Art History graduate from Riga, but basically why I am here is because my dad passed away this summer and comes out that by sorting the stuff he left I have discovered some valuable (and some less valuable- like this badge

) items. I have always been interested in history and also in Latvia the WW2 theme is still very topical politically and but at the moment I just need to sort the items, most probably sell something as I am more into collecting design items rather than military and just enjoy discovering more about past times and their material witnesses. So I will be present at this forum more and more

Hi Baiba.

the badge has a very homemade look to it and is not something I have seen before and as others have posted, it is likely to be a fantasy item.
