Badge for id please

Hi all, can anyone help me id this very worn German badge? Out with the trusty Garrett Ace250 today and I dug what I originally thought was scrap lead. I was just about to chuck it in a public bin when I realised it was a breast badge of some sort. It came from a POW camp that I visit now and again (wife thinks I live up there). I know it's a bit out of shape but it doesn't look like a regular assault badge going by the shape of the lower section. If anyone can positively id it I'd be most grateful. All the best, Andy.

But it does look to be made of lead. Perhaps a camp made substitute.
