    Hi gentlemen,

I've read the previous interesting threads about this award and I believe the badge below is a genuine early Blockadebrecher Schwerin. The pictures are not very good but just to confirm, may I have your opinion about authenticity?

    regards,

    Pierre

It looks O.K. to me, a tombak badge, but I'm not 100% sure on the catch, it might be a known variant. Best wait for Martin, Norm or Leon to take a looksy is probably best.

    Regards, Ned.

    Hi Ned,
Thank you for that. Indeed, I've seen other versions with a hook on a plate piece. I hope it's not a repaired one or any stuff like that.

    Hi Pierre,

I seem to remember seeing this type of catch before on other Schwerin badges, so I'm leaning toward it being good as everything else appears O.K. to me, but I'm not 100% certain. The other guys will be along soon no doubt.

    Regards, Ned.

Yes, no problem with the catch. I call the type with the flat-based catch "Type 1.2" in contrast to "Type 1.1" which has the C-shaped catch.

    Best regards,

Hi, I see no issues with this one either. A nice original Tombak "C" catch and all in all the superb quality of a Schwerin made award. Leon.
