Close Combat Badge BRONZE Opinions please! thanks!!

I bought this many years ago with some other WWII badges. I have been told by a couple people that it is authentice, but I wanted to post it here and get some more opinions. The 'shiny' or glossy areas you see are from where I have put a little vasaline (petroleum jelly) as some people have told me that helps stop the spread of the corrosion or deterioration of the metal that has started. I have other badges from my collection listed in other threads: EK1, EK spanges, wound badges, tank badge, assault badge, German Cross, etc. Thanks in advance for your input!
