    Yes, that is indeed true. There is quite an abundance of dealers here in Vancouver that have an assortment of many, many fake and reproduction items sold as 'originals', so always be weary.

    Yeah, for example the "authentic SS dagger 1936 model" It had a BEAUTIFUL and oh-so-authentic plastic handle.

    I thought it might be helpful to show what a couple of originals look like to compare with the horror of this fake. Note all are hollow backed.

    There are several production varients of these badges as they were intitially produced in Portugal and locally in Spain, finally later being made in Germany. Hence the different dies and pins used.
