Nick hi, I read the above thread and even though it states that only one in silver had been issued; there is always the possibility that others may have been produced as well; as "spock" would say - "It's only logical".

Matt, were there more than a single producer of this award?
Lauer of Nurnberg was the only known producer of those and all three grades were struck using the same die. Bronze grade has a very deep and rich bronze color to it, nothing like the one you show. It is trying to be silver and while it does come close as far as the copies go it is definitely different from accepted originals. Furthermore if there was another producer of those I do not think they would mark it for competition.
    cheers

One more question ... What does the number stamped directly under the initials LN on the reverse indicate?

It is a year they founded the company Lauer of Nurnberg (hence LN although later on the company expanded opening up location in Berlin as well)

Not completely accurate Adrian, as this is my badge and my photographs; only my information has been posted, no other's information from this forum has been quoted or has been posted there. I am also a member and moderator on that forum.

No but you have used Matthew's information and posted it with acknowledging where you obtained it.

It is a pet peeve of mine when I see others making use of information they have been provided in good faith and passing it off as their own. A note to acknowledge where you got your information from would have been the decent thing to do.
