Just located and purchased a copy of the book that I mentioned in my previous posting. It was the only copy listed on Ebay, slightly read.

Would anyone have suggestions as the best way to photograph a metal award? I wish to avoid shadows if possible?

A light box? There are plenty of DYI guides on the net.

Quick update... I just purchased a digital calipar to make very accurate measurements and holding wax, so as to be able to take better photographs of the badge. Now all I need is the quiet-time to get this all done.
