Deutsche Kreuz in Silber - authenticity?

Is this medal vintage 1942 Germany or vintage 2002 Latvia? I think I know, but as always I need confirmation from the experts.

Thanks. That is exactly what the local folks had to say about it. So I was holding out no hope for the Silver, but some for the Gold. Same seller, but the local reviews on it have been mixed.
