I just need to know the name of this medal. Am sure it is real because it was purchased from the WWII vet who bought it in Germany near the place they were made. They came in a display case.

The last time I heard that these were sold or traded was 40 years ago. Like I said, they are rare in the extreme...
I cannot comment on the originality of the one that you have posted. To date I've never seen an original example of this medal in real life nor did I had the chance to examine these closer...

Very rare order 1942-45 !!! the value in 1993 ( Forman's book ) $ 10,000 and the red leather cases $ 3,000 in 1993 ! Today $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Here is a picture of the reverse. We have two. One with ornaments, one without.
