Hey guy's, I have read there were different metals used in the construction
of this particular award. Can anyone say for sure if it was a first issue or the second ?
I have researched and believe the RaD might have had a hand in this,
and might have been awarded the "Siegfried" "S" cuff title.. Please any light
on this subject would be greatly appreciated. Including the cuff titles corresponding to this medal.. Thanks....G

First awards were of tombac/brass with a bronzed finish.
Second issues were bronze coloured over zinc.

Your medal appears to be the later type as there is
greying where the finish is worn - but hard to tell
because of it's great condition. Most zinc ones
I see have hardly any coating left.

I used one as a fob on a key chain for a while.
It wore off the high spots to plain brass.........
    Regards,

    Steve.
