Interesting to see what looks like the pattern of a thumb print on the reverse. You can see where the acids from that person's skin have eaten away at the finish over time. Which is why handling our collectables should be kept to a minimum and always with gloves.

Please excuse my ignorance. I'm not trying to be a naysayer, but I was always led to believe that these medals with the "t" with the backwards cross stroke were bad?
Please view the t's on my medals as comparison.

Interesting point Tom. I didn't know that one. As such I have pulled out my Heer 4 & 12 year awards and lo and behold...no crossed 't'!

My examples aren't maker marked, I wonder if the crossed t's are merely a variant?
