Article about: I bought a collection of medals from Germany recently, and this one is exciting. Looks ok to me. At the back we can see remnants of "gold" on the pin.

    I think the one you have posted lacks detail.
    This was a very prestigious award, I expect high quality.

    Yes, it is worn and dirty and it has been stored poorly since World War II, but the details show in my opinion that it is ok

    I agree with Ralph that it lacks in details..
    Overall casting flaws many places on the piece..
    Perhaps an older reproduction... but not original imo!

    Sorry, but I have to disagree.

    Compare the details of the inner oak leaves in the wreath, and top bar of the anchor.
    Here is another example to compare.

    You can compare yours to member map's fine original piece here!
    And last picture highlighted flaws on your piece..
