Hi Daniel, welcome to the forum.
I am not liking this one, sorry. Is the writing on the back standing proud?
Hi Tom, thanks for your reply.
In relation to the writting on the back, it seems the date when this Cross was introduced. According to wikipedia "In recognition of the substantial importance a woman’s role and motherhood was in support of a strong Deutsches Reich nation, the ‘Cross of Honour of the German Mother’ was introduced by decree in Berlin on 16 December 1938 by Chancellor of Germany (Reichskanzler) Adolf Hitler."
hi this item is also bad the writing on the reverse is just wrong and should be stamped/etched into the cross not raised
Thanks, Ewan, little details are really important.
What a pity, I really liked this cross
Yes, this is a fake cross.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
Thats the second time that example has cropped up recently. It needs to be binned
"In all my years as a soldier, I have never seen men fight so hard." - SS Obergruppenfuhrer Wilhelm Bittrich - Arnhem
Daniel, apart from the lettering, another pointer is the sharp points on the rays.
The first 3 are good examples whilst the last is the one you posted, note the difference.
