Im Daniel, from Spain.

My friend is willing to sell this badge, so I want to know if it´s original in order to buy it. The badge is the Ehrenkreuz der Deutschen Mutter, in the back there is an inscription: 16 Dezember 1938.

Hi Tom, thanks for your reply.

In relation to the writting on the back, it seems the date when this Cross was introduced. According to wikipedia "In recognition of the substantial importance a woman’s role and motherhood was in support of a strong Deutsches Reich nation, the ‘Cross of Honour of the German Mother’ was introduced by decree in Berlin on 16 December 1938 by Chancellor of Germany (Reichskanzler) Adolf Hitler."

hi this item is also bad the writing on the reverse is just wrong and should be stamped/etched into the cross not raised

hi daniel, if you look around originals are plenty of this award even cased at good prices!

EDIT** this bronze cross can be found in its paper issue packet like the silver version only the highest grade gold was a cased award sorry for that it was my mistake!

Daniel, apart from the lettering, another pointer is the sharp points on the rays.
The first 3 are good examples whilst the last is the one you posted, note the difference.
