    Default EK2 and Ostfront spange

    Hi guys,

    This one dropped in today:-I
Quite dirty and necklected. Ironcross is 3 piece construction, no makers mark and the core is non magnetic. Some paint are flaking off, and it does not look like the core is brass.
My question is; can anyone come up with a maker for this cross, or is it just post war c... ??

BTW does anyone no of a good way to clean the ribbons (just a bit) ?

    Hello Marc

put the piece of time in front of the EK Forum experts.
I mean here to see a LUG variante ... ???

    The medalbar itself looks ok!

I do not have any medal bars in my collection, but this is a medal bar that has the symbols of valor and pain for me. EK and the Ostfront side by side.

I try very hard to avoid the temptation to collect medal bars, but it is increasingly more and more difficult to control the addiction....
Collect ROA, Cossack, Schuma and other WW2 Volunteer militaria.

The EK2 is a good Otto Schickle with zinc core. Typical paint loss unfortunately.

Others might disagree, as I know there's LOTS of "mint" collectors among the awards hoarding crowd, but I like this one JUST the way it is... the perfect amount of dust, staining and wear. I keep thinking to myself that "untouched" items like this (of all kinds) will one day be more appreciated than they seem to be now... I personally avoid 70+ year old items that seems to have been cleaned and polished by theirs new post-war owners. I just go -"that's a shame"- and move on...

    But, yes.... great set, congrats!

Great looking bar, I have two bars of the same combination and have to admit to preferring the used rather than the minty look.

No, not bad. I thought it would be a rare variant.

Everything is ok with the medalbar .
