Not original in my opinion.

Poor detail and the catch looks very suspect to me.

I'm going to cautiously disagree with the boss now.......

I think it has a chance of being original. The attached eagle is missing which makes it look very poorly detailed. The reverse setup, including the catch, is known on Brehmer Erdkampfabzeichen.
