    Default Fakes ahead!

    Yarr

Had a looksie on a Norwegian website today and this guy is selling some German pins, badges and medals, I've spotted a few fakes, but I am not exactly sure about which are fakes and which are not:

As far as I can see:

    Lot 1:

    EK1: Doubtful
    Polizei badge: No idea
    Luftwaffe pin back badge: Fake
    Panzer Assault badge: Fake
Tinnie: Might stand a chance, who knows
    EK1 and bar: Fake

    Fakes ahead!

    Fakes ahead!

    Fakes ahead!

    Fakes ahead!

    Fakes ahead!

    Fakes ahead!

    Lot 2:

    Miniature mother's badge: Original
    Waffen SS badge: Fake
    Stalingrad badge: Fake
    EK2: Not too sure
Reichssieger badge: Don't know if they make fakes of this, but the eagle doesn't look too good
    Stamp: Fake
    Feldgendarmerie: Fake

    Fakes ahead!

    Fakes ahead!

    Fakes ahead!

    Fakes ahead!

    Fakes ahead!

    Fakes ahead!

Hehe, well it's not ebay, but a Norwegian website, I'd like to send a message to the seller/the website and tell him they are fakes, but I was not sure about which were good and bad, better to say "Those and those are fake" rather than "You're selling fakes"

Show us photos of the back!

We need to see the details of these fakes, and let us know if they are marked.

Detailed images of the reverses may well help, but it is far better to study originals. For information's sake, the large round screwback that can be seen above, is a very common Polish made piece that can be found on almost anything. The ink stamp is the same as many other examples that have been well discussed here on the paper items forum, and the police adler badge is another replica piece that resembles the cartridge case insignia.

Tiger88 makes a great point: Studying the originals is the way to go...get familiar with the materials used, the method of construction, dates & makers...This knowledge is invaluable and you'd be amazed at the "Alarm Bells" that go off instinctively in your head when you come across these attempts to rob you of your hard-earned cash...just my thoughts,
