Here for reference and study opportunities impressions of my Luftwaffe Flakkampfabzeichen "Ball-Hinge"
(tombak/neusilber).
Many consider these badges to be the highest quality of all Luftwaffe Flak badges (see M. Garlasco's Flak badges book).
These are one of the earliest known Flak badges and because of the distinctive shape of the eagle, which gives it the nickname 'lizard-head'.
Although these badges were not marked, it has been suggested that they were made by a manufacturer from the Gablonz area (perhaps manufacturer Adolf Scholze). These badges are never found with a maker marking.
I have also enclosed lots of details including of the ball-hinge mechanism.
As you can see this badge has been really worn by Luftwaffe Flak crew during WW2, but it's still in a very good quality condition. The details of the eagle, the wreath, the flak gun, et cetera are excellent preserved.
Enjoy of this great quality 'ball-hinge' Flak badge in tombak/neusilber!
