Article about: I was looking through my uncles WW2 memory book yesterday and found this badge along with a mother's cross in gold. I asked him where he got the FLAK badge and he said he took it of a German

Size:  10.5 KBI was looking through my uncles WW2 memory book yesterday and found this badge along with a mother's cross in gold. I asked him where he got the FLAK badge and he said he took it of a German he had killed when taking the guns. It looks so pristine I thought I would post pics to see what you think. Looks brand new...

    It looks O.K., but the pic's are pretty poor and small to tell if it's a NS or rarer zinc ball hinge flak by an unknown maker. These are a nice badge, the largest of the type and high quality too.

    The badge is good. I'm still thinking NS rather than zinc, but it could also be tombak although I can't see any real sign of brass. Where the finish is worn off on the barrel the base metal doesn't look like zinc to my eyes.
