Also it doesn't look as though the pin has been made probably as it has to bend in order to become secure, or is it just the lighting on the photo? If it is the lighting i am sure original examples wouldn't have been made to this quality as other forum members have already said.

The cut out area beneath the gun breach and next to the base is never found cut out in this shape on original badges either, no matter who made them.
