Hi mate K/marine stuff's not my thing really, but the detail's very soft. Also there appears to be an unusual ridge on the reverse. Stewy
Hi Pansoti
IMO not original...

As Nick said.
It's not an original.... sorry

Sorry , IMO the badge could be an unmarked AS
Hi Pansoti
Is this badge yours or are you planning to buy this one?
As far as I remember there are only three accepted designs of semi hollow Flotten-Kriegsabzeichen. Not only that but the badge that you show totaly lacks the detail and depth that one would expect from an original.
This is the same badge (also a reproduction), but this time with an AS in triangle logo on it:

The HSF badge by AS is ever subject for discussion .
On the whole I don't like to judge a badge according to the pin system . In a few cases it is the only chance (f.e. Ubadge Schickle vs Mayer) .
The pin system is a purchased good so failing the stock, the firm can apply another type .
The badge shown looks like an AS type , I am doubtful so I have proposed it to discuss .
The retaining clip maybe has been replaced or resoldered .But this is not the esssential requirement to set fake the badge .
To improve the evaluation another badge AS type .
PS : I am not interested in buying the badge
Hi Pansoti
I did not judge the first badge by looking at the pin and catch alone.
Can you post front and side pictures from the second badge?

Hi again,as i said before K/M is only fringe stuff for me. The award that started this thread looks like it's started to melt on the obverse. I did not need to look at the hardware. Sorry. Stewy
