This one is a fake, all RS&S Flottenkriegsabzeichen should have a ball hinge and be made in zinc.

May I recommend a very good reference book on German combat awards: German Combat Awards 1935-1945 Alan Beadle. It is a very useful book.

This is a fake badge copied from the maker Richard Simm & Sohne.

This maker only produced this badge in zinc and only with a ball hinge. No wartime made badge of this type in any other combination of materials or hardware has been found.

Nick is correct. The reputation of this author is not the best and I would steer clear. Gordon Williamson has brought out an excellent Kriegsmarine Decorations book which would be worth looking into.
