I cannot ID him; but this is most definitely not Felix Steiner.
He looks nothing like him, and anyway, Steiner was an SS general, while this is a general officer of the Heer.

Re: German General and his awards
As Andreas says this bears no likeness at all to Felix Steiner and there is noting in the award group or photograph that show anything relating to the SS !!
The gates of hell were opened and we accepted the invitation to enter" 26/880 Lance Sgt, Edward Dyke. 26th Bn Northumberland Fusiliers , ( 3rd Tyneside Irish )
1st July 1916
Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

Re: German General and his awards
Thanks guys. I want to thank you guys for Identifying the awards. If anyone that looks at this thread and can tell me who this person is it would be greatly Appreciated. Doing some Research on him. Yes he appears to be Heer. Does anyone have any information on German Generals of WWII? I wonder if anyone has published a book.

Hello,
What makes you think that these awards belong to the German Army General? He is not wearing them in the photo.

It would be extremely hard to tell without rock hard provenience. But if you look in the picture he has loops for a medal bar but he just isn't wearing it. Do we even know if these awards are genuine?
Thank you, Glen.
