The Germanic Proficiency Badge (Germanische Leistungsrune)

This badge was founded on 15 August, 1943, by Reichsfiihrer-SS Himmler. It was instituted in two classes; bronze and silver, and consisted of two victory runes superimposed on a convex mobile swastika (46mm in diameter). The badge is of copper-plated zinc with an olive-bronze or silver wash. The runes are die-struck tombac with black enamelling and silver-plated edges. This one is 100% original.
I copied this from the website Germanmilitariablog.com. Please go there to read the rest, great information on the qualifications to win this order; not too easy.

I am not 100% convinced this is original just looking at the pins.

    Cheers, Ade.

I have to agree with Ade on this one. The rear configuration is not what I would expect to see.

    Sorry,

    1) lugs/pins holding the runes in place are the wrong shape.
    2) Incorrect shape of the pin.
    3) the base material is not the usual zinc which these badges are made from.
4 Incorrect shape of the sunwheel swastika: where the arm of the swastika meets the next arm is far too thick

In my opinion it is bad for all these reasons.

    Cheers, Ade.
