I'm 99% sure this is a post war repro. As the originals were hand crafted by members of the garrison from whatever they had at hand. Mainly aluminium or zinc. Stewy S

This i think is post war,as yet there i think there is still no period photographic evidence of these ever being worn unless someone can correct me on this.Also it looks too well defind as the supposed originals were reported to have been made in the local fish cannery and not of great quality.Hope this helps........Cheers Rob
