    If it is, indeed, ground dug....it's quite likely the former owner of it did Not have a cheerful future ahead of him! I agree with the others above-I wouldn't clean it either. Perhaps a light wipe with a soft cloth to remove any loose dirt, but that's about it. Certainly no soaking or treating!
