A real gem that one! I've always found this badge interesting - I know the Vikings have a reputation around the world for being quite vile and nasty, but it has never occured to me that they were Nazis as well!

Hey Kenneth, Hitler and particularly Himmler were big believers in Norse mythology and introduced it into Nazism. Wagnerism, Wewelsburg castle, runicism, the belief that the Vikings originated in Germany, the Nordic blond and blue eyed look...its all there. Thats why Viking ships , runes etc appear frequently on our medals and awards. Himmler even wanted to abolish christianity in Germany and replace it with worship in the Norse Gods..it didnt catch on though funnily enough!
