Its a good zinc by Hermann Aurich, very common badge.

Hi Chris, this is the only draw back to collecting zinc badges. The finish was just not designed to last about 70 years.

Indeed. Tombak were stunning whilst zinc were not. But some badges are not available in tombak, so like it or not we will have to get some zincers also

For example Janos told me that CCC were all produced in zinc. So if we want one for our collection we will have to accept that.

I too have no problem with zinc badges, I have lot of zinc heer badges, with chrome finish they can be very nice, but the gold finish looks much better on tombak materal IMO.
