Krim shield and Worringen

Article about: Hi, tinnie is just a term for Third reich day/rally badges and commemorative badges like yours. There's one for sale on the net from a dealer for \\$55. Thanks for the close ups.

    Default Krim shield and Worringen

    Evenin' all.
Using the search function I see that Krim Shields see to be quite common. So could I ask the forum's opinion on this one?
It's been holed at some point and any mounting tabs have been removed, but any more info most welcome...

The other piece is a badge apparently commemerating the battle of Worringen. I've drawn a bit of a blank with this so I'm hoping some knowledgable soul out there can help shed some light?

Technically I'm not sure if this is an order or decoration but I couldn't find an obvious section for it.

Thanks for looking and hopefully I'm in the right section this time.............

Not a good one, I'm afraid. What is it you need? Just generally closer detail or anything specific?
    Thanks for the response.

    Hi Sid and welcome.

I've never seen the Worringen badge before so can't offer any help there, maybe post it in the Non Combatant forum too, someone there may have come across one before.

The Krim Schild might is quite possibly a zinc original that has had an incredibly hard life. Wait for a few of the more knowledgeable shield collectors to take a look.

Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

As for the the badge it's a 650-Year Anniversary of the Battle of Worringen Tinnie, it looks to be authentic!..

Right - here's a couple showing, hopefully, some more useful detail:

It wasn't until I took these that I noticed how degraded the head was!

Re the Worringen badge - this may be a daft question but is "Tinnie" a sort of slang term for tin badge? Any clue as to a value if authentic?

My, what a lot of questions for my first visit!

A tinnie was kind of an unofficially made pin commemorating an event or anniversary of some sort. Not anything like, say, a military award like an Iron Cross or anything. Some tinnies, however, were Almost official over time and can be of decent value, but the majority of them are fairly common and are not all that wildly valuable.
Your Krim Shield looks to have been an original piece, but, as you said, it has, indeed, looked to have lived a Very tough life!
