better pics please.wrong angle/blurred.
It's possible but the backing material doesn't match the condition of the award for me.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
Weird looking cloth!..
That's what I thought about the cloth as well, but was always wanting one of the shields for my collection and the price wasn't too high. I'm more concerned about the shield itself.
Agree with the other weird cloth and all the wash is removed from the shield. Hope you did not pay to much if you picked it up.
Yes I purchased this. More just for the shield then the cloth and backing. He got $60 US out of me. Thanks for the input guys

Should I just remove the backing plate and cloth and keep the shield as a display piece?
Just my opinion remember, I think its maybe a Deumer made shield due to its characteristics I am sure if memory serves me right this is the tiny die flaw which these gentlemen are referring to. Deumer Krim Shields - Germany: Third Reich: State, Civil, NSDAP Awards & Decorations - Gentleman's Military Interest Club might be useless to you as you cant view the pictures.
Cant comment on the cloth.
Hope this helps with your research.
don't just take my word on it.
