Apologies title should read LAPPLAND SHIELD but I am unable to amend the title.

Id appreciate your thoughts about this item. I researched the F.A.B. marking on the paper backing to the cloth about 6 months ago. The only possible link I could discover was a german company with the trademark FAB who manufactured liquid dyes so i wonder if they dyed cloth and the backing paper shows their trademark. Unfortunately Ive tried to research it again and now Im damned if I can find the link again LOL

These were not factory made but were locally produced by the men themselves in PoW Camps.

    Hi guys
Yes Im aware of that and also that there were variations on types of metal etc. I understand that it didnt originally come with any cloth backing and that may be a later addition but I was hoping someone may have knowlegde of the FAB marking on the backing paper and had maybe seen it before on other backing cloths or material in general.
