Luft Bomber Clasp - Maybauer ? Frontflugspange für Kampfflieger in Bronze

This was a pick up today.

A nice condition zinc Luftwaffe Bomber Clasp in Bronze. Based on my research (as well as feedback from Doug in a prior post), the concensus is that these are of Ludenscheid origins with the likely candidate being Maybauer (but could be GWL, Deumer, FFL).

Overall a nice piece. You can see traces of the bronze in the oakleaves....or is it gold???

Ok....I've been pouring over this award....I am pretty certain that it is actually a "GOLD" grade.

Here are some macro photos. Would love to hear everyones opinion.

Gold or bronze it doesn't make a difference as there is almost no wash left but it would be nice to know.

Beautiful clasp Michael.
I see exactly what you mean about the gold coloured residue and I think I would plump for it more than likely being a gold grade due to the colouring on the hinge assembly and hook.
I find the hardware tends to retain the colour better.

Nice addition to any collection either way.

Well I guess I got lucky!!! From a history point of view that is. From a value perspective , given that the wash is all but gone, it don't think it is worth anything more.
