Luftwaffe Beobachterabzeichen... fake?

Hello all, I joined to see if the resident experts can tell me if this badge I picked up at a garage sale is a fake. I really, really think it is due to the fact that the bird is soldered on, but I just want to make sure. (The goopy looking stuff is metal cleaner, my mom insisted on 'shining' it without telling me)

Sorry it is a fake. It is a poor quality casting. The eagle was always rivitted in place.

A good job it was fake, as Mum's polishing would have devalued it a lot if it were original.

Hello and welcome again.
As Ade has already said, a fake badge and a very poor one at that. Try a search here on the forum and you will see a vast difference in quality compared to an original. Keep any decorations away from Mom too!
