    Sorry, no good this time, note the post war Souval "claw" catch. GWL also only made these in buntmetall, this one appears to be (at least in part) zinc.

    Made (as Ned said) by Rudolf Souval - and jeweler's quality but the wrong construction. There was a story about when I started collecting in the 1980's that this catch design was deliberately done to identify it as a reproduction. RS was a wartime maker and many masters still existed to be able to reproduce the new coining dies for the post war award appetite that sprang up and the cutout catch was SO UNLIKE any wartime one that it clearly identified them. Whether this is true or just a myth I cannot be certain but I do like Souval copies if their price reflects what they are.
