Hi, these are two more of the badges I received from inheriting my grandmothers antiques and collectibles in 2010. Tried to sell them twice at auction but they were written up wrong and never found a home. I found some info in Snyders Treasures on the "High Seas Fleet"? Badge (not sure what its called sorry please correct me if I am mistaken!)

They were listed for $50 each starting bid and got up to over 175 but JUST missed reserve by $10...So they've been sent back from Chicago and now all these items are mine again...at that price with commission I'd rather keep them and trade for Luftwaffe items, a HJ Dagger, or something else. No need to give 35% commission I'd rather donate 5% to the forum and get a fair deal! Still not even sure what they are of if they are real. The auction house listed the luftwaffe one as a possible reproduction which if im not mistaken isn't it a late war model?

Anyway I have a TON more stuff coming in so I'd like to start with a quarter of my collection and get it out there so the forum and public can see and appreciate everything!
No sense keeping it locked up in a room...the world needs to learn from the stories each item carries with it...

Many things I'd like to sell, everything I'd be willing to trade, Looking for Luftwaffe, HJ Youth, Daggers, and my holy grail(s) a helmet nicer than our luftwaffe double decal helmet, AND a Luftwaffe Pilots badge! Lot of work to do this summer my first box came in today and it felt like Christmas! I put my other authentic items together in preparation for our display cases to arrive but no better chance for some group pics lol

Fingers crosses on the two badges hoping for some good news!
Take care everyone and happy vacation season hope everyone gets to see the ocean this summer at least once! A day on the lake or river will do just as good

I'm afraid your RS&S High Seas Fleet Badge is a fake. Certainly one of the better quality copies, but bad nevertheless. All original RS&S Fleet Badges were made from Zinc and had a ball hinge staked into a recess on the reverse of the badge. Likewise the retaining clip was also staked into a recess on the reverse. This type of fitting as on yours, with a block hinge and retaining clip soldered directly to the reverse is never found on originals.

Here is what an original should look like ( they came with both wide flat pins and needle pins)

Hi there, i am sorry to say that i have to agree about the flottenkriegsabzeichen RS&S badge. I have never seen an example of this manufacturer useing that hardware. The LUFTWAFFE badge is nice and crisp but i am not keen on the hinge. The pin is that holds the the main pin/bar into the mount looks either of poor quality or it could just be loose. It is possibly an ok badge but i would be inclined to say that it is also a reprodution.

I agree 100% with Redcap, the Flottenkriegsabzeichen is a fake for the reason mentioned. The Erdkampfabzeichen is possibly an Arno Wallpach, try a search on this forum to compare.

It's also best practice to keep one item per thread for simplicity and to avoid anything getting missed.
