Hi Dave, I wouldn't be opening up that can'o'worms regarding the Memel and the slanted G if I were you Theres enough threads already on the WAF arguing the toss which is why I won't post my Memel for comparison. Basically the consensus over there seems to be to avoid anything that isn't a slanted G as that is considered the only 'accepted' version. My view is that by taking that as gospel, many original medals are being overlooked, mine included.

FWIW, my Memel is stamped L/18 near the suspension ring thereby indicating a private purchase from BH Meyer. Theres been only a couple of these posted and they sure get the 'slanted G' fanclub jumping up and down and yelling fake so I won't be a part of that silliness.
