Default Medaille zur Erinnerung an die Heimkehr des Memellandes

A few months ago, i was and the douglas looking for in the internet when we come across in them with a problem: The great variety and number of counterfeited medals of memel and the difficulty in if identifying a good one of a bad one. Good, in these last weeks, i walked searching sufficient on this question and follows here the conclusions that obtained to take off. Clearly that if somebody will have some rank or opinion, will be coming well, therefore exactly between the specialists, has contradictions

First, they is esteem that it forms distributed only 31,322 medals of Memel, decoration this known as one of the 3 of the War of the Flowers (Annexation of Austria, Tchecoslovaquia and District of Memel). Given the small number of distribuidas parts, the quão is imagined rare it is and the values that it arrives (complete with ribbon EUR 250-300). In this scene, it is not difficult to understand because of the fake. Some counterfeited medals have a pátina with so old appearance, that it is difficult to believe that it is not true. The principle, I did not obtain to identify to points in the part frontal of the medal that can lead to a conclusion of the fake.

The identification is gotten with the analysis of the reverse of the medal. I will only approach the aspects of the reverse. A collector classified the medals (he can seem bobeira and basic, but after to analyze and to study the subject, make sensible total): - Medals with original characteristics; - Original Medals, but with some characteristics of false; - Medals as admittedly false. Two types of orginiais medals of memel, but with distinct aspects of its face exist reversa.

The main characteristic, is the junction of the leaf branches of oak in its base.

A type (type 1) presents a ribbon, with two returns, the 2 stems of the branches appearing (cotoco) between the returns.

The other type (type 2), does not appear the two stems (cotoco), therefore the ribbon has 3 returns, being that third it is hiding the cotocos.

To see figure below. A admittedly original medal presents the following details: - " M" of the word " Memel" it must have its legs straight lines for both the types of medal. If it will have curve, is false.

Some with small inclination of these feet are considered original, but only for type 1. - " G" of the word " Errining" it has that to have its leg directed toward inside of the circumference of the G (one cure and a leg stops backwards), toward the type 2, or a small vertical leg, for type 1. In case that the G has a curve and two straight lines for the leg, with certainty she is false; - " Ss" different and round fat people. " S" rectum, I finish and equal he is false. Other details can be observed, but they do not result in conclusions: - " A" of the word " März" it is relatively lesser that of the word above. This always can be observed in type 2, being conclusive; - " 9" of 1939 it must have its high return, that circulates closes it, with the leg closing and if fundindo in the ascent of the line. " 9" not closed he is false. 9 with the belly very low are false. E finally, the diameter of this medal must be between 32 and 32,2mm, with one weight between 13 and 13,9gr. To understand these comparisons, nothing better as to analyze some photos to create the persepção. Of this form, I am annexing some examples:
