Re: Medal grouping what do you guys think?
I don't know anything about the other items but the KVK looks like it is either a fake RK des KVK or a second class which has had the suspension ring broken off and re-attached the wrong way round. Can you post a better pic please?
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

Re: Medal grouping what do you guys think?
The Veterans medal and the shooting medal look ok, as does the tinnie,
and Hindenberg Cross. The KVK is strange, as Adrian says.........

The gold winged train wheel is for the Reichsbahn, or national railway.

No, it's DDR, probably off a cap. I reckon Andreas will put you square on it for sure though.

I would tend to agree, but East German uniforms & insignia (or railway ones, for that matter) are not my area of expertise. (It's definitely not from the Third Reich era, that's for sure.)
The veteran item is the Kriegervereins-Ehrenkreuz [Veterans' Association Honor Cross] 2nd Class, instituted by the Preußischer Landeskriegerverband [Prussian State Veterans' Organization] in 1921.
