Hi guys,
I picked this up at a gun show for next to nothing. The pin and catch are broken and it's not in the best overall shape. Looks like it's marked L/2 or maybe L12? Any ideas?
Thanks!
Mo

Hello,
It appears your badge may be marked LM, that is a maker thought to be Lind and Mayer. They made a zinc product.

Hi, looks a good original that was probably period repaired and has since broken again! Leon.
Thanks guys!
Hi Guys,
That's actually what's left of a zinc S&L -- the most common variant, Minesweeper Classification #2.5.5. Someone's added a spurious "L/?" mark to gussy it up a bit. I've attached an example for comparison as well as an "LM" (MC# 5.1.1) which is quite different. (As Jody mentioned the "LM" is sometimes attributed to Lind & Meyrer, but actually there's still no evidence to confirm that association.)
Best regards,
---Norm
