Hi Brig,
I think this is a fake for four reasons:
1) The orientation of the integrated loop is at right angles to what it should be for mounting on a miniature medal chain.
2) It's the same design as the obviously fake stickpin version attached here.
3) There's a fake U-Boat mini that's from the same maker.
4) It's hideous! (Even my wife says so and she doesn't usually react to what I'm writing...)
