    Hello Folks,
I would like to share my J2 Pilots badge with case. This item was captured by my great-uncle Frank in Sicily (he said it was obtained at an airfield they overran).

It is still one of my favorite pieces (my son loves it too) and I got this badge when I was 8 years old. Also added is a letter from Frank talking about the invasion of Sicily. My great-uncle Frank had a good eye, some vets picked up anything while overseas, Frank picked up a nice assortment of medals and badges-DK, silver tank destruction strip, Luft GAB, Pilots badge, 1st Class Spange, nice helmets, daggers, insignia, etc.

    Regards,
    Jody

Very nice J2 Pilot badge in the fitting case. I can only agree, that your great uncle had a good eye for quality.

    Hello,
Thanks guys, here are two more photos that were taken back in 1996 of the same badge (I just found them). It gives a nice shot of the inside of the case.

    Hello,
He was in the 1st Infantry and was an infantryman (for a time he worked with an engineer unit).

    Hi Steve,
Yes he was still 17 (almost 18) and it was taken before Sicily. I like how he is just wearing the liner. Kids then were a lot different than kids today.
