My new Demjansk
Since receiving my Krim shield 2 weeks ago i've been on the lookout for a 'freind' to keep it company and yesterday this nice Demjansk arrived in the post. These are always a little tough to authenticate as there doesn't seen to be much in the way of reference material available for Demjansk, Kuban and Cholm shields as there is with Weber's book on the Krim shield. Anyway this was nicely reviewed over on the WAF Demjansk - Wehrmacht-Awards.com Militaria Forums so when it came up for sale I jumped on it (not literally).
She wasn't cheap but I can't see that i'll be upgrading anytime soon. Sadly for the time being, into the 'draw of secrets' she must go...
