Deutsches Schutzwall-Ehrenzeichen a.k.a. West Wall medal. Awarded to those who assisted in the construction of the "Siegfried Line", or West Wall fortifications, and later to those who served there.

    Regards,

    Carl

p.s. A relatively common award, moderate value.

A Westwall like yours with a bit of wear and no ribbon is probably worth around 20.

    Hope this helps

But it is real? The value not so big a deal. Just really wanted to make sure it was not a fake. Thank you all for your time.

I agree with everything posted above and I believe Steve is correct, this is a later zinc medal. They are very common and if we're honest, not the most desirable award so value is low for the mentioned reasons.

If you were thinking of selling it, there is a member here called Flugelmeister who has a medalbar with a missing Deutsches Schutzwall-Ehrenzeichen who might be interested in purchasing it to complete his set.
