Need help identifying this "Table Award"?

I believe this is a table award (based on some basic research), but I cannot find another example like this one. Does anyone have any idea what this would have been for? This is the first time I've seen one of these so I'm completely uneducated as to their purpose and would appreciate any help...

Ya, zinc pest. Any advice on how to remove it?

Unfortunately, there is no removing it, but it can be slowed down to an almost halt by applying vaseline.
