Got this from a reputable dealer/collector

I have had this on the list for a while.

Purchased on what I saw in pics

Its ribbon is rather short, I have seen these shortened up before.

I like it but I have a diagnostic questions.

    Were these solid siver?

Why it looks like in areas that some type of paint ect was shedding,

Should I be concerned- I know little about these.

    what say ye gents?!

What would you know about victory? I killed a she-wolf in her den, armed with only a knife. I escaped the Caughnawaga Indians who sought to burn me alive. And, I was the sole survivor of a shipwreck at the Battle of Havana. So you'll excuse me if I choose not to follow your advice." ―Israel Putnam speaking to a Continental Army officer at the Battle of Bunker Hill.

I don't think these were silver...These were issued in various metals including Bronze, Iron, Copper, Weissmetall...I don't see any issues with it...it's a somewhat common award...

I don't like it, to me it looks like a cast fake that somebody has used a coarse file to smooth the rim!..
It's a wasted trip baby. Nobody said nothing about locking horns with no Tigers.

I suggest you try to find other examples and research the areas pointed out by Gunny.

You would have thought that whoever filed it down would have buffed it smooth afterwards...I would pass on it for that reason alone...
