I just received them from a friend in Europe I think they are all junk but i could be wrong.
chris
I think you could be right there Chris, something doesnt look right with them
I am not an insignia guy, but judging from the other bits that I have studied, I wouldn't feel comfortable calling these original.
The Lappland shield is, I am pretty sure, a very poor fake.
Both the patch and button are fakes.
Probably the other two as well......
Regards,
Steve.
Post the SS items in that forum to be sure on those. I thought the Lappland Schild was controversial at best or field made and awarded. The chances of a cloth version being produced are very remote so I would say it's a fake.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
Sorry, everything is bad.
Cheers, Ade.
Any "original" Lappland shields were mostly made in POW camps out of whatever was at hand. The most accepted "original" is known as the "Soapdish" type. I believe they were from the middle of Norway area. The one shown is a fake or a "57er" version. Docs were officially awarded, but not the shields. Stewy
I'm not totally sure,i'll have to do some checking. If they did it's a first for me. I'm not into "57" stuff,so i was unsure. Stewy
