There may be an envelope that belongs with the cross and ribbon
with the name of the medal on it.

You might want to get some small paper labels on string and
attach them to the items so you can instantly ID them.
It may be tough to remember everything if you
    are not too familiar..........

See thats the problem, allll these items were just thrown and stacked in the box from the 50's and I am triying to make heads and or tails of the items...the ribbon looks new and not used, so the Vet might have just found-it that way, or it might belong to the one you speak of.

    Thanks Mike
    Hello Mike,
Can you tell us anything of the history behind the box of goodies? Was it a case of a Vet's footlocker that he filled with all these pieces and brought home or is it part of a collection made since the war? Were they obtained directly from the Vet etc etc?

Here is the trunk, the box in the trunk, and the Vets uniform and his medals,
There is also capture papers on the whole lot, although the papers don't list every item, they just say "Nazi items, Flags, Daggers, etc. I think the Vet collected and made a point to collect as much as he could when he was over there, as there is so much combination of items, I would love to hear the story behind it! But alas, not many of them are left and it may be a mystery, but judging by what he found makes me wonder...I have added some other items from other lots, to make it a whole. They have been in this box since the 50's I believe, not seeing daylight for some time....

Everything that I have posted Adrian, well 98% came in this little box, that I bought from this person who had it passed down to him. I was going to post the U.S. items shortly (sigh).

Thank you for posting Mike. That's the kind of box that most of us can only hope to find one day!

There is so much history here, that is worth more than the items inside (to me anyway), oh do you know what the lion patch is on the uniform left shoulder? I can't find it anywhere. To the best of my knowledge, he brought all these items, that he collected in the war,and sent them home from Europe.

Thanks Ade, now that throws a twist in things, as the other pins and patches on the vets uniform point to the 134 infantry divison, as well as the name of the Vet who served there....Hmm have to do more research....
